Gratitude

Gratitude is a key element of happiness.

Below are some quotes that depict deep gratitude and the joy experienced.

“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.”  Thích Nhất Hạnh.

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.” Ralph Waldo Emerson.

“Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.” A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.”  Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose.

“And when you crush an apple with your teeth, say to it in your heart:
Your seeds shall live in my body
And the buds of your tomorrow shall blossom in my heart,
And your fragrance shall be my breath,
And together we shall rejoice through all the seasons.”
― Kahlil Gibran

    1. Thank you for reading, and your comments, Wren. Yes, the Khalil Gibran is from bestseller poetry book The Prophet. For A.A. Milne, I learnt along my journey that some children’s novels have the most amazing and philosophical writes as well, hence am a little wiser and try to look beyond the cover. 🙂

  1. What caught my eye was the quote from Winnie the Pooh. It’s amazing how these stories written for young audiences have so much emotional wisdom to them. Few other cases in point- Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes. 🙂

Really liked the Kahlil Gibran quote too. Reminds me another learning- pay attention to the food you eat and establish a relationship with it. After all, it is what gives you life!

    1. Thank you, Tejaswi, for dropping by and giving such nice comments. Am equally amazed at the wisdom related by these childrens’ story.

For the Kahlil Gibran quote, indeed our food nourishes us, sometimes in sacrifice, we are grateful! 🙂

  2. Enjoyed the Eckhart Tolle quote. Too often we think of things that are not going well and that can snowball into discontent. Instead we should be aware and thankful for all that we do have sending us upward like an ever inflating balloon with gratitude.

  3. Makes me feel gratitude for drinking milk just before bed when I was a little lad. All my tossing and turning churned the creamy part into butter, which my digestion worked on to separate the sugars, which then fermented into alcohol and I woke up with a hangover … 🙂
